"Finance" is a modern and prestigious economic profession. Specialists in finance always easily find jobs in the economy that desperately needs an effective, reliable and stable financial system, development of production, improvement of the living conditions of the population. If we imagine that the economy is a ship that goes through the stormy boundless sea, overcoming all obstacles, then a financier is the captain on the ship’s bridge.

Qualified financiers are required by state and commercial enterprises, banks, tax authorities, investment and insurance companies, other organizations and institutions. Financial manager, financial analyst, financial advisor, expert of a company’s financial department, state inspector, accountant, treasurer, auditor, dealer, insurance agent, broker, crisis manager, property appraiser – this is only a short list of jobs for the Finance speciality’s graduates.

The "Finance" speciality is taught by the best lecturers of the Finance Chair, which has 3 doctors of economic sciences and 11 candidates of economic sciences.

During their study students are able to obtain the professional knowledge in the following disciplines: finance, corporate finance, financial analysis, investment, insurance, financial markets, financial activity of companies, taxation, etc.

In order to become a real professional it is important not only to receive a good theoretical knowledge, but also to be directly involved in the practical processes. The Finance students have the opportunity to learn the practical aspects of financial activities at enterprises, banks, insurance companies and other organizations. The employers say that they prefer to hire the Academy’s graduates as their theoretical knowledge and practical skills are always on the highest level. This enables them to immediately orientate themselves in their new tasks and responsibilities demonstrating excellent results.

It is impossible to imagine a modern qualified professional without the knowledge of computer technology. For this purpose the Chair of Finance has a training financial and analytical center equipped with computers, which have a software that meets all the modern requirements. Its use during the training makes it possible to create the necessary practical skills for the planning, analytical and controlling functions of finance specialists, to combine the acquired theoretical knowledge with the practical organization of financial processes.

In case students want to improve their knowledge or to devote themselves to scientific activity, the faculty of the Finance Department seeks to stimulate the research of students in order to develop their intellectual potential.

The Academy’s students traditionally receive awards at the national and international student scientific conferences, competitions and contests. The first place in the Ukrainian scientific and practical conference of young scientists “The reserves for economic growth and development of innovative companies in Ukraine", the first degree Diploma received at the VII International scientific and theoretical conference of young scientists and students "Problems of economic and social development", prizes of the all-Ukrainian student contest – this is an incomplete list of achievements of Finance students.

The Chair of Finance maintains good relations with the universities in different countries. Its students have practical training at the leading educational institutions of the European Union such as the University of Applied Sciences of the Deutsche Bundesbank (Hachenburg, Germany) and the Banking Institute/ College of Banking (Prague, Czech Republic). Participation in international programs allows students not only to deepen their knowledge of global finance, but also to learn the culture, history and traditions of foreign countries.

  • to investigate and critically analyze the existing financial system, develop recommendations for its improvement;
  • to make the optimal managerial decisions both under normal and extreme conditions;
  • to carry out management in financial institutions;
  • to assess the situation on the market of financial services and make adequate decisions;
  • to determine tactical and strategic goals in the activity of a financial institution;

A graduate can work as auditor, inspector accountant, scientific researcher (economics), economic analyst, economic consultant, economic advisor, financial economist, economist in accounting and analysis of economic activity.
