International Economics

The Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine is a prestigious educational institution for young people who wish to receive a higher economic education. Academy is the only university in the region, which has a license to provide education in the field of "International Economics". This speciality is getting more popular with the development of integrated markets.

The process of learning is interesting and exciting. From the very first day students immerse into the English-speaking world of economy, significantly widening their horizons. In addition to regular lessons conducted by the experienced staff - professors and assistant professors of the Chair of International Economics, lectures are delivered by renowned professors of foreign universities, such as the Honorable Professor of the Academy Joseph Haber (Poznan School of Banking, Poland), the Vice-president of the International Training Center for Bankers Erika Marsi (Hungary), Professor of the Department of Economics of the University of Vienna, Stefan Makowski (Austria), Professor Emeritus of the Harvard University Glen Jenkins, who is in the list of the 3 percent of the best world economists according to the latest rankings.

The department has a scientific center of initiative youth, which contributes to the development and realization of students’ scientific interests and their creative abilities. National and international student conferences in the English language are held on an annual basis. The international conference "The Problems and Perspectives of the Banking System Development: a Glance into the Future" was especially representative. It was organized by the department’s students with the financial assistance of the Academy. Participating in the conference were students from Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Poland, the leading Ukrainian universities. Graduate students have practical training at enterprises and organizations, which carry out international activities in Ukraine and abroad: commercial banks and insurance companies with foreign investments, multinational corporations and domestic enterprises with foreign economic relations, international department of the National Bank of Ukraine. The best students undergo practical training abroad: at the University of Applied Sciences of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Banking Institute/College of Banking in Prague, Poznan School of Banking, where they not only attend lectures, but participate in the interesting workshops held at central banks, ministries of finance and bankers associations. Students are actively involved in the international educational project "European Youth Parliament" which unites tens of thousands of young people from 34 European countries providing a unique international platform for debate, intercultural dialogue, development of communication skills and leadership potential.
