The Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine has excellent facilities for studying and recreation.

The Academy’s students have the opportunity to actively engage in sports in 10 sport gyms, the universal sports complex, the modern swimming pool and tennis courts. Studying at the Academy are six masters of sport of international class, 26 regional champions, 15 champions of Ukraine, 3 participants of Olympic Games.

The Academy’s conviction is that only physically healthy people can successfully study and achieve success. Unique conditions have been created for physical training, health improvement and achievement of outstanding sports results.

The Academy’s universal athletics complex, which has a status of an Olympic training center, is rightfully called a palace of sports. It has no equals in Ukraine according to its multifunctional character. There are excellent conditions for exercising track and field athletics, tennis, volleyball, basketball, mini-football, etc. The athletic complex is used by the Academy’s staff, students as well as Ukrainian and world athletes.

The Ukrainian Academy of Banking also boasts a universal sports gym, special training facilities and fitness rooms with a variety of equipment of the best European firms.

The Academy has 20 sports clubs: in athletics, basketball, volleyball, football, futsal, indoor hockey, handball, swimming, aerobics, tennis, table tennis, badminton, aqua aerobics, archery, ski racing, biathlon, etc. Every year competitions for the Cup of the President of Ukraine are organized.

The Academy prides itself on its sports stars: the champion of Europe and the World in biathlon, best athlete of Ukraine in 2009 and 2010 Vita Semerenko; world champion in biathlon Serhiy Sednev; world champion in athletics, champion of Ukraine in all-around athletic competitions, the best athlete of Ukraine in 2006 Lyudmyla Blonska; champion of the XXIII Winter World Student Games in biathlon Oksana Yakovleva; champions of the I All-Ukrainian Winter Student Games Serhiy Lyfirenko, Volodymyr Grygoriyev, Oksana Melnykova; winner of the V Ukrainian Youth Summer Games in taekwondo in the weight category of up to 51 kg Yana Bokova; champion of Ukraine, winner in the traditional international bicycle race Alexander Golovash; Yevgen Hutsol – master of sport in athletics, winner of the All-Ukrainian competitions, participant of the European Cup – 2011 in Paris, member of the national team of Ukraine; Polina Rodionova – master of sport in archery.

The Academy’s sportsmen won a lot of prizes in competitions of different levels both in personal and team championship. The Academy was awarded a gold medal by the Sports Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the development of physical culture and sport, and a Cup for the best conditions created for physical training among Ukrainian institutes and universities.
